Two AGM results, TUI takes wing
Two of the five airline stocks I keep an eye, easyJet and TUI, on have had their AGMs over the past week. My hunch was that we’d see turnout improve somewhat and that has happened at both, though both also remained under 50%.
At TUI turnout was only just over a quarter, but that didn’t affect the big vote - to delist from the LSE. It would be rather ironic if any UK-based shareholders wanted to vote against this resolution, and keep the airline listed in the UK, but were disenfranchised from doing so because they were on the wrong side of the ownership and control rules - a direct result of the ‘sovereignty-enhancing’ Brexit vote.
